“Expressman10 Brandon, United Kingdom”

Stayed two weeks in November and can only emphasize, as with other reviews, just how friendly and helpful all the staff are. Yes, you will hear the Muezzens calling at 5.am but if staying on the East Bank you will suffer this AND more traffic noise than here. Also reduced amount of "hassle" than with the prolific East Bank "touts". Reasonable food at good prices and with two other similar restaurants within 5 mins walk. The hotel's regular driver is simply superb - honest, knowledgeable and a careful driver. A good secluded, clean pool is also a plus. Government ferry across the river is a two minutes walk and costs a whopping 10p!! Mohamed and his brothers simply cannot do enough to make your stay worthwhile. Highly recommended

“Ardell B”

“We spent 11 nights at this hotel and would highly recommend it. The view of the Nile is fabulous from the balcony as well as from the terrace- peaceful, quiet setting. The breakfast is good, as well we had dinner here 3 nights and it was delicious. The owners are doing a great job in trying to please everyone. We would like to acknowledge a staff "Ali Khodary Ahmed" for the superb job he does - and always with a smile - good going Ali!!!”

“El Mesala is Amazing!”

“My family and I just returned from a 2 week trip to Egypt. We absolutely loved the El Mesala. The people were so helpful and the food was the best we had on our trip. We had a 2 bedroom family suite that was perfect for our group. The view from the roof top restaurant was awesome. It is located directly across the Nile from the Luxor Temple. It is very quiet on this is side of the river and away from the many people pestering you for money. The tours they arranged for us were great as well. Please visit Luxor! We were so sad that there were no other tourists. It is a wonderful place to visit and we felt totally safe the entire time.”

“A Little Gem of a Place”

“I stayed at this hotel five nights with my husband and a friend and carried on using the restaurant and socialising there over the Xmas period. When I first arrived in Luxor I came down with flu and the staff were so caring and helpful. I felt really looked after. El Mesala is a little gem of a place. The location is superb, the front rooms and roof restaurant have an unbeatable view of the Nile skyline and Luxor temple and the rear has a gorgeous view of the Valley of the Kings mountains. So you will get both sunrise and sunset views. The hotel is one minute walk from the bank of the Nile and two minutes walk from the ferry, feluccas and motor boats. It has the best of both worlds - away from the noise of the East Bank and yet a stone throw away from it. When I first passed by the hotel a few months ago I remember thinking how good the Feng Shui of the front of the hotel was. The energy of the place feels good. You can enjoy a delicious, healthy breakfast and other meals in the roof restaurant. The rooms are spacious, very clean and serviced every day and have a fridge, satellite TV and Wireless. Very soon there will be a lovely swimming pool at the front of the hotel which will add the finishing touch. The staff are very professional, English-speaking, helpful and very friendly. Nothing is too much for them to do for you. We will be back. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be in the centre of the action and yet have an intimate, quiet, cosy place to go back to and chill out. Thank you Mohammed for the great xmas party you organised on the roof terrace. It was one of the highlights of our stay. I hope your New Year Eve party goes just as well. Can't wait to be back.”

“Great Small Family Hotel”

“This is the second time this year my husband and I have spent a week at El Mesela. The view of the Nile from our room is outstanding. Hotel is spotless. Bed linen and towels changed every day. Two really good chefs (no upset tummies here) and the owners and all staff so friendly and helpful. I forgot my travel kettle for my early morning cuppa and they lent me one. Location right at side of Nile. Motor boats, feluccas and ferry on your doorstep and also taxis but as this is West Bank Luxor there is no hassle like on East Bank. We have been visiting Luxor for last six years and this is the best hotel we have stayed in. Highly recomended.”
